Microsoft Has A CRM Offering Worth Looking At

I'm not saying Oracle or Salesforce.com should be completely worried just yet, but they should be keeping an eye on Microsoft's cloud-based CRM service - Microsoft Dynamics. An event was held in Redmond, WA which saw the unveiling of Microsoft's new CRM solution. Microsoft Dynamics will be available in 40 markets, in 41 languages, with a price point of $34 per user per month.

The price point alone is enough to peak the interest of many companies out there. Right now, Oracle is charging $150 and Salesforce.com coming in at $125. Some companies which have already put Microsoft Dynamics through its paces are, Magma Design Automation, Ceridian Corp., and Sandri.

Here are a list of features which Microsoft has announced:

- The familiar Microsoft Office 2010 user interface experience, which is adaptive by job task and role within one's organization, helps people complete and take action on work activities with ease.

- Enhanced collaboration across workgroups and teams as Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 provides users with more effective team management and collaboration through shared data access and SharePoint Workspace for collaborating on work activities and documents.

- Real-time business and personal dashboards that allow each user to quickly create visual and immersive business intelligence dashboards to help envision their work activities.

-And especially for developers, deep configuration and customization with full .NET development in Windows Azure that provides rich customization and integration for business applications.

Another advantage the Microsoft team has is the resources to market the CRM. They've already announced plans of numerous kick-off events around the world. There will be live and virtual events people may attend.

With the price point being where it's at, and all the features Microsoft has boasted about, this CRM solution is worth keeping an eye on.
